The buttons are loose overall, but there are no defects. I've had it fixed several times at the store, but the more I wear it, the more it loosens, so I guess it can't be helped. I don't think it will be a problem if you can fix it properly. There are some normal scratches due to wear, but this is a characteristic of leather, and anyone who understands vintage and used clothing can wear it without any problems.
