THE SPECIAL AND THE GENERAL THEORY. This book was published in Albert Einstein's Lifetime. Albert Einstein; 14 March 1879 to 18 April 1955 was a German-born theoretical physicist who developed the general theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics alongside quantum mechanics. While best known for his mass-energy equivalence formula E = mc2 (which has been dubbed "the world's most famous equation"), he received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics, for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect. The latter was pivotal in establishing quantum theory.

A facsimile dustjacket houses this book. Few mms short in height.

Priced on spine at 6/- NET. Enclosed in a plastic protector sleeve. Some wrinkling in general but very nice overall.

Spine has darkened in comparison to the front and rear panels. Boards are red cloth with lettering to the spine and front board. These are in a really nice condition. Clean, tightly bound to inner page block.

There are 138 pages and these are mainly clean and tightly bound apart from occasional browning. There are 3 paste ins.

Hand-written paste-in on the front inner board states. Then on the front free endpage is the bookplate of the owner: ex-libris. To the rear there is a modern photocopy of an article originally published in the Popular Science Monthly from May 1929 which used the findings from an eclipse in the USA in 1925.
